Dust free sanding using Lagler machines. Machines which are checked and serviced annually by the sole supplier in the UK. Intermediate servicing and cleaning done by myself after each job.
Planked, wooden block, parquet, strip wood, softwood or hardwood, I can sand it.
I sand these too and have special diamond dotted disks that attach to one of my machines. These ensure than the minimal amount of wood is removed. I like to be able to prove the thickness of the top layer and do this on a site visit.
Once sanded I can virtually do anything to your floor. Staining, lime washing , bleaching, amber neutralizing, basically, what ever look you are desiring. Samples can be done for you too.
I often use oils and hard waxes as a finish to wooden floors, especially in the work I do on heritage and period spaces. What I won't do is put this type of finish in an area that I do not think it is the best type of finish for.
I use a lot of lacquers, especially in high foot fall areas, family homes, and commercial properties. All are water-based and of the highest commercial grade, even for your home. I do not skimp on the finish.
I have worked a lifetime in restoration, returning things to their former beauty. This, sometimes, means repairing before restoring.
I offer an extensive in house repairing service to all types of wooden floors. This includes repairs to what is beneath the floor too.
All the repairs are carried out by myself as I am the one who will be sanding the final floor.
The gaps can be fill in-between the planks if they are annoying to you or draughty.
My preference is to use specially made pine strips called slithers. These are glued into the gaps, after the gaps have been prepared, then sanded flush with the floor. If done correctly, they look rather stunning.
I also do the flexible coloured acrylic type and the fine filling to parquet and block type flooring before the final sanding.
I do not do quotes over the phone.
I need to see what I am quoting for and physically visit the floor.
It is by doing this that I can find out your exact requirements, how you use the floor, the wear patterns, how it feels under my feet, the moisture content and many more factors too boring to list. Plus you get to meet me, which is important as there are some spaces that can only be done during a holiday or shut down period.
There is no charge for this and I do not do follow up calling.
