Images In Sets Of Three
Solid oak flooring that had a high gloss finish which highlighted the worn out patches and water damage to the door areas.
This is the Lagler Hummel belt sander, zero dust and the first machine out of three used.
.
Next up is the Lagler Trio.
I use this machine right up to the end, carefully reducing the aggressiveness of the sanding disks on every pass to ensure that perfect finish.
I have missed out the edge sander which is used during each stage.
.
I only use the best, highest quality lacquers and finishes.
With some input from you, my client, and the wealth of knowledge I have gained, that perfect finish can be found for your floor.
Yes, most engineered, hardwood floors can be sanded too. I just need to prove the thickness of the top layer before I proceed.
.
NOT MY WORK
I did not do this.
I can 'undo' this.
.
NOT MY WORK
Life is too short for this kind of ugly.
The machines for hire to the DIY market will do this.
.
I DID THIS
The same floor as above but with the addition of a trained and competent person behind the worlds finest sanding machines.
Respect yourself. Respect your floor, hire me.
.
Some have to be done with hand sized tools due to the character and style of their surroundings.
I always talk with my clients, not just about the floor, about what styles they like, favourite pieces of furniture, to get a feel for their tastes.
.
.
The same room as above.
I paid particular attention to keep some of the aged look so that the transition between wood and stone was natural.
.
.
Occasionally I get asked to do something a little different.
(Opening being constructed for some reclaimed bi-fold doors)
.
Designed in the woods to fit into the woods.
Local suppliers were used throughout the project, and I was the sole designer, labourer and constructor.
.
The natural edged Larch supplied by Belvoir Sawmills is stunning.
Spot the reclaimed antique hardwood door slipped into the side entrance.
.
I keep up-to-date with changing techniques. Take this deck for instance, built on concrete decking posts. This stops any rot to the sub structure.
.
The joy I got from this project, the photos still make me smile.
Respecting every piece of timber, minimising wastage, is a priority for me.
.
The deck itself was constructed of Larch boarding 150mm wide by 32mm thick. Untreated as it has natural preservatives in the wood. Can be sanded too.
.
This is what I do in my spare time.
Pembroke table, unloved and destined for a chalk paint job (probably).
.
Top stripped and colour added. Then finished with a hard wearing water based varnish which means it can be used every day.
.
The base had it's traditional French Polish redone, keeping the elegance and glow that an antique like this should have.
It's now a family table.
